A great scripting tip

Dear Eric,
In this week's newsletter I am going to share with you a great script writing tip.

Sales Tip
After you build trust and rapport and you set up the agenda for the presentation you want to identify customer needs. The outcome of this section of the presentation is to find a problem, want, or need the prospect has that your product or service can solve. The reason you need to do this is because the satisfied man doesn't buy, the satisfied women doesn't buy. The easiest way to find out the problem, want, or need is to ask questions. Make a list of key questions you can ask the prospect to identify their need. One great question you can ask is - What is most important to you about blank? The blank is whatever your product or service is. For example:

• What is most important to you about the sale of your home?
• What is most important to you about your investments?
• What is most important to you about the computer you are looking for?

I want to encourage you to take 10 minutes right now and write down 7 questions you could ask your prospect on your next presentation.

The number one tip is to create a desire in the prospect to want your product or service before you start the close section of the presentation. Every section of the presentation has a purpose. The body of the presentation's purpose is to create a desire in the prospect to want what you are offering. So if you want to close more sales work on the body of your presentation.

Here are a couple of things to work to improve your close.
• Ask questions to identify the true need of your prospect
• Share success stories
• Map out your presentation before you deliver it
• Visualize your presentation
• Role play your presentation

Sales Tip:

Let's start off with a great sales tip. This insight will help you close more sales. What is great about this idea is it will start working for you immediately. My view on a sales presentation is instead of looking at it as one presentation look at it as several mini presentations. When you look at it like this you can dissect the presentation into sections and then improve each section.

One section of a presentation is stories. My presentations are typically 10% to 50% stories. Prior to going into each presentation I know which stories I am going to tell and when during the presentation I am going to tell them.

Here are three different stories that could be important for you to include in your next presentation: your story, your company story, and success stories. The big idea from this newsletter is to identify the stories you are going to tell prior to each presentation.
